Madhuri will be Draupadi in Prakash Jha project

Director Prakash Jha was taking Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie as Draupadi for his forthcoming movie, but now he has changed his mind set. Filmmaker Prakash Jha has asked Angelina Jolie to play role of Draupadi in his next international project. But now he has found his desi actress Madhuri Dixit to play the role of Draupadi .

Filmmaker Anthony D’Souza said that, he will prefer Madhuri Dixit to play this role, because he cannot see Draupadi in Hollywood actress, unless the whole story is an English adaptation.

Prakash Jha’s first choice was Madhuri Dixit but he wanted it to be an international project so he decide take Hollywood actress. Another name came in his mind for the role of Draupadi was Bipasha Basu.

Rituparno Ghosh’s Abohomaan based on Satyajit Ray’s life

>Rituparno Ghosh who directed the film Raincoat in 2004, The Last Lear in 2007, Bipasha Basu starrer Shob Charitro Kalponik, his new project Abohomaan, is based on the life of legendary filmmaker, Satyajit Ray. Satyajit Ray had some issues with his wife and son and the major part of the film focuses on that.

Even though Rituparno wanted Amitabh Bachchan to play the lead role with Shabana Azmi as his wife and the evergreen Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit and Farhan Akhtar as the actress who he is attracted to and his Big B’s son respectively, he had to settle for actor Deepankar De as the protagonist.

Mamta Shankar plays his wife and Ananya Chatterjee, the actress. Jishu Sengupta plays the son. The movie is produced by Reliance Big Pictures. The famous film director has also directed a 2009 flick Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam.

Mads in Aditya Chopra’s next flick

Madhuri Dixit‘s comeback to the big screen with Yash Raj Film‘s Aaja Nachle may not have worked, but the lady is still making a lot of news. Madhuri has earlier worked with Ranbir’a father Rishi Kapoor in ‘Yaraana’ and ‘Prem Granth’. Now she will be romancing with the son Ranbir.

Bollywood’s trend has been to pair older men withy younger gals. And we have been witnessing it a lot on screen like Rishi Kapoor in ‘Deewana’, Big B in ‘Suryavansh’ and Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ amongst many other examples. Well, these old chaps have been sharing a good chemistry with their younger heroines.

Mads was approached by none other than the elusive Aditya Chopra. After DDLJ and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the director is ready to direct his third film. And he wants Madhuri to star in it.

On the other hand, the older ladies have also been pairing opposite younger guys like Madhuri has worked with Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu with Ranbir and Neil Nitin Mukesh amongst many other examples.

Now lets’ see to watch how far this jodi of Ranbir and Madhuri Dixit will work on screen. I sure miss Madhuri on the big screen a lot!

Madhuri at NDTV Greenathon!!!

Madhuri Dixit is in Mumbai, India these days with her two kids. She participated alongwith other bollywood biggies in The Greenathon, a 24-hour non-stop programming initiative by NDTV and Toyota, committed to create environment awareness. This live programme saw some of the prominent stars besides her viz.Bipasha Basu, Govinda, Malaika Arora, Arshad Warsi and Dia Mirza tapping their feet with Shiamak Davar’s troupe. Also performing for this common cause were country’s most talented singers like Sunidhi Chaudhan, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher.
