It rarely happens that someone turns out to be such a pack of qualities! Madhuri Dixit is one such example. She is full of so many skills like perfect acting, perfect dancing etc. She is not only a good actress but she has also proved to be a perfect home maker. Though , now-a-days she is missing from the silver screen but still she is often quoted as a “standard” for perfect acting or perfect dancing.

Recently, the famous choreographer, Longinus Fernandes quoted Madhuri Dixit by saying that she is such a wonderful actress as well as dancer that it is hard to find someone like her. But finally the choreographer selects Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the one who can be compared rightly with Madhuri.

In fact, Madhuri Dixit has given many memorable dance moves in various songs of movies like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil to Pagal Hai etc. And then same is the case with Aishwarya, adds Longinus Fernandes. He says that even Aish has been no less then Madhuri and she can be rightly called the present day Madhuri Dixit. May be the most successful years of actress Madhuri Dixit were between 1990 to 1995 in which she delivered six superhit films and for which she won awards too. They were Dil (1990), Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun! (1994), and Raja (1995).

We begin with the movie Dil for which Madhuri Dixit got her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for her superb performance. The film was a romantic drama in which she acted alongside Aamir Khan. Then in 1991 came her movie Saajan whose songs such as ‘Dekha Hain Pehli Baar’, ‘Tu Shayar Hain ‘,’Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain’ were a big hit. Madhuri’s marriage

November 6, 2009 Leave a comment

Being a fan of hers I like to explore the various slides of her life, and one thing which I come across is that Madhuri Dixit married a man who was unaware of her celebrity status and had never seen any of her films.

The actress of hit films Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Tezaab and Khalnayak married to Shriram Nene who is a Los Angeles-based cardiac surgeon, and a very busy person. In an interview Dixit’s sister said, “He (Nene) hadn’t heard of her because he grew up here (in the US). He watched some of Dixit’s films after the superstar told him that she was a top-ranking film actress in India.” But Madhuri’s celebrity status never changed his feelings about her.

The only bonding in their relationship was that he liked him and she liked him, and that was the only important thing. Their liking was for the individual, beyond issues like career.

We miss you Madhuri

I expected highly from one of my favourite actress Madhuri Dixit as judge of DPL but her circumstances didn’t favour her and the things could not work out. This gave me a feeling of the halcyon days of her life when she was at the top.madhuri dixit

I still remember the days when the Dhak Dhak girl was Dhadkan of all. Her superhit movie ‘Beta’ and the song dhak dhak karne laga had made her the heartthrob of all fans. Her movie ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ was simply amazing. Her dress in the song didi tera devar deewana was the new fad of market. But my favourite Madhuri movie is ‘Devdas’ in which her role as Chandramukhi is unforgettable. The grace she has carried over the years is beyond words. I look forward to more from her.

In her upcoming flick is ’36-24-36′ with co-actress as Jaya Bachchan and direction by Meghna Gulzar. Other details however are not available.

Actors Deepak Tijori, Himani Shivpuri, Tinnu Anand, Kalpana Iyer and Kiran Kumar make supporting roles. The music was composed by Anand-Milind with lyrics were written by Sameer.

This was the first time that Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit were being paired together. The film was a box office failure, but the lead stars got favourable reviews. Madhuri Dixit earned a Filmfare Best Actress nomination for her role but won the award for her performance in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun… Shahrukh Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Villain. This was his third role as a villain after Darr and Baazigar, both of which released the previous year.

The story goes like Vijay Agnihotri (Shahrukh Khan) is a wealthy, spoilt man who lives with his mother in the city of Mumbai. His outlook to life is simple: whatever he wants he gets. He meets Shivani Chopra (Madhuri Dixit) and falls in love with her. He constantly pursues her, but she is not interested. He does not give up and tells his mother that he wants to marry her. The day he and his mother go to give the proposal, they witness Shivani’s wedding to Ashok Chopra (Deepak Tijori). Vijay is heartbroken and tries his best to forget about her.

The hardship of jail turns her life into hell when she finds out that her sister and daughter were chucked out the house by her brother in law (Tinnu Anand). They are later killed in a car accident, the driver being Vijay. The cruel treatment by the prison warden (Kalpana Iyer), compels Shivani to make a complaint. It proves costly and she loses her unborn child, due to the beating she suffers from the prison warden. Shivani decides that it is time to take matters into her own hands and she murders the prison warden. Eventually, she is released from jail.

The film ends with Shivani hanging from a cliff and Vijay hanging from her foot. He says that if he dies then she will have to die as well. Shivani, replies that her living is not necessary as long as he dies, she lets go and both fall to their deaths together.

Madhuri Dixit did full justice to the character she played and the movie was a box office failure, but still the stars got good reviews for it.
