Madhuri’s marriage

November 6, 2009 Leave a comment

Being a fan of hers I like to explore the various slides of her life, and one thing which I come across is that Madhuri Dixit married a man who was unaware of her celebrity status and had never seen any of her films.

The actress of hit films Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Tezaab and Khalnayak married to Shriram Nene who is a Los Angeles-based cardiac surgeon, and a very busy person. In an interview Dixit’s sister said, “He (Nene) hadn’t heard of her because he grew up here (in the US). He watched some of Dixit’s films after the superstar told him that she was a top-ranking film actress in India.” But Madhuri’s celebrity status never changed his feelings about her.

The only bonding in their relationship was that he liked him and she liked him, and that was the only important thing. Their liking was for the individual, beyond issues like career.

Her famous dance numbers for bollywood films had been Ek Do Teen (from Tezaab), Bada Dukh Deenha (from Ram Lakhan), Dhak Dhak (from Beta), Chane Ke Khet Mein (from Anjaam), Choli Ke Peechhe (from Khalnayak), Akhiyan Milaun (from Raja), Piya Ghar Aya (from Yaarana), Key Sera (from Pukar), Maar Daala (from Devdas) etc.

For Madhuri’s dance choreographer extraordinaire Saroj Khan says, “Madhuri is a kind of dancer who looks fantastic no matter what she does and how she moves! She puts her heart and soul in her dancing. Out of the many actors who I have choreographed, she is the only one with whom I can experiment. I have given her so many weird dance steps but she still did it with ease!”
